Calling for YOUR opinions on this one.

My husband and I had an interesting discussion last night about the Rapture.  You see, when Jesus comes for His church, every human being who lives in our house will go with Him. But what happens to our beloved dog, Hank?

Tim and I went around and around on that concept at some length, and we didn't come to any kind of conclusion.  I have to admit I got more than a little upset picturing Hank slowly dying of thirst because there's no one here to look after him and he can't get out of the house by himself.

So, I ask you, what do you think will happen to the indoor pets when the Christians are raptured?  I'd seriously like to know your thoughts.

There's a very cynical atheist group who are selling the service of taking care of the pets of raptured Christians. They obviously think it's bunk, but i honestly believe that they're nice people who'd say "Wow. it WAS true!" and then they'd really go take care of the animals like they signed up to do.

But i also think our pets go too. I've seen way too much evidence that at least the higher animals, cats and dogs, have very beautiful and healthy souls that know God intimately. Do. Not. Care. about any theology that says they don't have souls - so now your readers know what an awful person i am!

BUT .. worst case scenario - my bets are on a solution like Acts 12:6-10.

I guess I hadn't really thought about this? Hmmm....I haven't really read/studied too much on the animals in heaven topic. I'm curious to see what others say...

I am wondering if the reason we don't know is because we don't have to know. Scripture says that God knows ever sparrow that falls from the sky. Perhaps the solution isn't something that we need to concern ourselves with because He will work out His plan without us? I don't know . . .

This was a great topic of conversation at our house after Rebecca's hamster died. Since animals don't have souls we pondered whether animals could be in heaven. But after thinking about the sparrow reference we all came to your conclusion. God can take care of those details.
